FREQUENT QUESTIONS

• How can I be admitted to the Conservatory?

You need to pass an admission test in your speciality. Tests take place in June. In case there are remaining vacancies after the completion of the tests, there will be further testing in September. You must have all the previous requirements in order to apply.

• Which previous training is required in order to apply for the Access Tests?

High School Diploma (Bachillerato), or else, having passed the over-25s Test for admission into university. In case of having neither of these and being over 16, you can apply for the maturity test. The Professional Music Grade is not compulsory.

• If you have passed the access test one year, but you have not enrolled that same year, can you be admitted the following year without passing a new test?

No. The test is only applicable for admission on the same year it has been passed. In order to register for the following year, you’d need to do a new test.

• If I haven’t passed in June, and there are vacancies in my speciality open for September, can I re-apply for September tests?

Yes, if you pay exam fees again.

Does passing the maturity test not automatically lead to obtaining the Intermediate Level or Baccalaureate degree, in the event that one is not in possession of the same?

No.

What conditions must be met for enrollment in a second specialty?

  1. Without prejudice to the provisions of article 7.3 (BOA of April 15, 2013 (BOA 79 of 24/04/2013), interested persons may enroll in more than one specialty of each higher education. To do so, it will be necessary to have passed in its entirety the first course of the specialty in which they are enrolled and the corresponding specific entrance exam for the new specialty. In any case, authorization will be required from the General Directorate responsible for the organization of higher artistic education.
  2. The determination of vacancies to be filled by students who wish to study more than one specialty will be made after the enrollment of students who study only one specialty.
  3. Students who are taking more than one specialty will be subject to compulsory attendance to all the classroom sessions established in the Study Plan and in accordance with what is established by the respective centers in the didactic guides of the subjects.

Can I enroll in two specialties at the same time?

No, the simultaneous study of two specialties in the same center is not allowed. However, once the first course of a specialty has been passed satisfactorily, the student may take tests in another specialty and request authorization to study a second specialty from the competent General Directorate. This will always be subject to the condition that there are vacancies once the applicants who have passed and are studying a single specialty in the center have enrolled.

• I started a specialty last year and I have realized that I want to take a second one. Do I have to take entrance exams again?

Yes, it is mandatory to take an entrance exam in the new specialty you wish to enter.

What conditions must be met in order to cancel the registration and what procedures must be followed?

Comply with the requirements set forth in the regulations and submit a request to the director of the center within the deadlines established in the Center’s Regulations.

• Is there free enrollment?

No, there is only official education.

• Is it mandatory to attend classes?

Yes, attendance is compulsory to all classes and activities organized by the center.
