The CSMA Symphonic Orchestra is a reflection of the incessant academic and artistic activity of the Conservatoire itself, while at the same time showing the quality of the students who partake in it. The work ethics of their professors and students combines the maximum levels of teaching quality with performances open to the general public, where the work that is being done is presented in full view with proven professionalism. Every musician in this group gains instrumental and creative experience that spreads beyond the one gained by personal study and development. Concerts become indicators of level, quality, and experience in the field of their own instrument and orchestral training, and provide purpose and meaning to the efforts made
The CSMA Symphonic Orchestra offers concerts in the framework of important cycles, with demanding repertoires and attractive programmes, in which, on the one hand, the originality of the proposals prevails and, on the other hand, each concert shows part of the best musical tradition. It has accompanied soloists of international standing, such as Hervé Joulain, Nicolás Chumachenco, Asier Polo, Josep Colom, Mariano García, Bernardo Cifrés, etc. It has also been conducted by great conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner and performed in opera productions where its quality and effectiveness have exemplified the good work of its young musicians and the activities carried out at the CSMA. The CSMA Symphonic Orchestra has admirably managed to combine growth and learning for its members with a cultural service to Aragonese society.
Its current conductor is Miquel Rodrigo.
